Singapore Post (SingPost) is the official postal service provider of Singapore, tracing its origins back to 1819 when postal services first started in the trading port. Established as an independent department in 1858, it has grown from a traditional mail carrier into a modern logistics operator and e-commerce partner serving both local and international markets.

SingPost processes more than 3 million mail items daily through 57 post offices, over 300 self-service automated machines, 740 street posting boxes, and 11,000 POPStation parcel terminals. It connects Singapore with more than 220 countries and territories worldwide.

The company offers various delivery services to meet different needs. Domestic options include Basic Mail for standard letters, Registered Service with tracking and confirmation, SmartPac for e-commerce parcels, and Speedpost for urgent deliveries. Internationally, services range from standard and registered mail to premium options like Speedpost International for faster delivery.

Each trackable item receives a unique tracking number, usually 13 characters for international registered mail. The tracking system shows updates from acceptance to delivery. Customers can check status via SingPost’s website, mobile app, or self-service kiosks.

Beyond mail, SingPost provides logistics solutions such as warehousing, order fulfillment, international freight forwarding, and last-mile delivery. It focuses on e-commerce growth through initiatives like the Regional eCommerce Logistics Hub and SmartPost digital programs, including testing drone deliveries.

The parcel has been registered in the system but has not yet been handed over for processing. The seller may have created the tracking number, but the package hasn’t been shipped yet.

• In Transit

The parcel has been successfully delivered to the recipient. Delivery is usually confirmed by a signature or other confirmation.

The status means there is no information about the package. Possible reasons include an incorrect tracking number, the package not yet registered in the system, or it is no longer being tracked.

FAQ

Use the tracking number on SingPost’s website or app under 'Track Items'. Registered mail numbers usually have 13 characters ending with SG, like RA123456789SG. SmartPac uses formats like SM000000001SG. Basic Mail items don’t have tracking.

Local standard mail takes 1-2 working days. Speedpost offers same-day or next-day delivery. International times vary: 4-7 days to nearby Asian countries, 7-14 days to Europe or the USA, and 2-5 days for Speedpost International. Customs and local conditions may affect timing.

Items without tracking are usually Basic Mail and cannot be traced. For missing registered items, submit an inquiry at a post office with your receipt. Investigations may take 1-3 weeks for international shipments.

'Information Received' means the label is created. 'Received from Customer' shows acceptance at the post office. 'Despatched to overseas' means the item left Singapore. 'Arrival at Destination Post' indicates it reached the destination country. 'Held by Custom' means customs inspection. 'Product Delivered' confirms delivery. 'Attempted/Failed Delivery' means delivery was tried but not successful.

Registered mail gets one delivery attempt and is held at the post office for 10 working days if undelivered. Parcels get up to three attempts before being returned to sender. Redirecting to other addresses or POPStations after attempts is not allowed.
